aciclovir-400-MG-Oral-Tablet

Aciclovir is used to treat a wide variety of viral infections caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV), such as headache, dental pain, bone pain, sinusitis, and swollen lips. It may be used alone or in combination with antiviral drugs. It may also be used to reduce the duration and severity of chickenpox, shingles, genital herpes, and herpes zoster (shingles that occurs about the middle of the ovis) in people who are infected with the virus. See also How to use.

This medication may be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal. A light meal may help reduce the salt and potassium absorption in the body. The full course of treatment may take several weeks before fully covering the entire treatment period is needed.

For external use only. Do not crush or chew the medication. If the medication is for viral or skin infections only use it as a prophylactic, either as part of a treatment plan for a viral or skin infection that may spread or spread to others (e.g., liver disease, sexually transmitted diseases). Do not use during the first 14 days of treatment with a medication that also includes anti-viral drugs such as famciclovir (Avedict) or valacyclovir (Zovirax). These medications are used to treat several viral infections, including genital herpes, cold sores, shingles, and chickenpox. If an individual has cold sores, genital herpes, or shingles, these infections may be harder to treat because the lesions may heal faster than if someone has chickenpox or cold sores. Do not use this medication for viral or skin infections only.
